Export a video

Save an MP4 or GIF, copy a finished video, or export several projects at once.

Press ⌘E in the editor and choose where to save the finished file.

Export options

SettingChoices
FormatMP4 with H.264 or HEVC; looping GIF
Frame rate60 or 30 fps for MP4; 20, 15, or 10 fps for GIF
ResolutionSource, 4K, 1440p, 1080p, 720p, or 480p; GIF is capped at 1080p

The export sheet shows the finished duration and an estimated file size. Your last choices become the defaults; change them any time in Settings → Recording.

Copy instead of saving

Press ⌥⌘E or use the copy button in the editor title bar to export with your saved settings and place the file on the clipboard. Paste it into chat, mail, or another app.

Free and Pro exports

The free app includes every recording and editing feature. Video exports include a small Screenflare watermark; screenshots do not. Screenflare Pro removes the video watermark with a one-time purchase.

After buying Pro, sign in to the same account in Settings → Account. If the app was already open, return to it and check the account status before exporting.

Next: Take and edit screenshots
