Getting started
Install Screenflare, grant the access you need, and make your first recording.
Screenflare records, edits, and exports on your Mac. It requires an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 15 or newer.
1. Install Screenflare
Download Screenflare, open the disk image, and move Screenflare to Applications. Open the app to begin setup.
2. Grant access
Screen & System Audio Recording is required. Microphone, Camera, and Input Monitoring are optional and only needed for the matching capture features.
Screenflare may ask you to restart after enabling Screen Recording or Input Monitoring. The setup window tells you when that is necessary. You can review access later in Settings → General → Permissions.
3. Make your first recording
- Press ⌘⇧5 or click the Screenflare menu bar icon.
- Select Recording, then choose Display, Window, or Area.
- Pick your microphone, camera, system audio, and countdown options.
- Select what to record. Stop from the floating recording bar or menu bar item.
The editor opens with automatic zooms, cursor smoothing, and a canvas already applied. Press Space to preview, then ⌘E to export.
Your work stays local
Recordings autosave as editable projects on your Mac. Open Recording History from the menu bar to return to one later. No account is required; an account is only used to remove the watermark from video exports with Pro.
