Edit the timeline
Move the playhead where you want a change, then use a shortcut or double-click the matching lane.
| Edit | Shortcut | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Zoom | Z | Magnifies a point in the recording |
| Speed | S | Speeds up or slows down a section |
| Text | T | Adds text over the canvas |
| Cut | X | Removes a section with audio kept in sync |
| Mask | M | Blurs or pixelates sensitive content |
Drag a block to move it, drag its edges to change its duration, or press Delete to remove the selection. Use ⌘Z and ⌘⇧Z for undo and redo.
Use the inspector
- Canvas changes the background, aspect ratio, padding, corners, border, and shadow. Save a style preset to reuse the whole look.
- Camera and Cursor control their appearance and motion.
- Zoom changes zoom strength, timing, follow behavior, and motion blur.
- Edit holds speed changes, cuts, and Trim Dead Air.
- Overlay controls text, privacy masks, and recorded keystrokes.
- Captions creates an on-device transcript. Edit a line, cut selected lines, or remove filler words.
- Audio controls volume, noise reduction, loudness, click sounds, and background music.
For multi-source recordings, click a stacked window or display in the preview to bring it forward. The focus change appears on the timeline and can be moved later.
Finish the frame
Choose Annotate above the preview to add text, arrows, lines, rectangles, circles, numbered steps, or an image. You can also drop an image directly onto the canvas to place it at the pointer. Drag on the canvas to draw, then drag a shape or its handles to move or resize it. Right-click an image to move it up or down one layer, or straight to the top or bottom. Press Esc to cancel drawing. The Overlay inspector controls color, stroke, fill, and step numbers.
Each annotation appears on the Annotations timeline lane. Drag its edges to set its display time. Imported images are copied into the project, so the original file can be moved afterward.
Use Crop above the preview to remove unwanted edges. Scrub through the full video once to check cuts, masks, captions, and audio before exporting.
